Cooling System Parts & Repair

The Coolant System has two (2) purposes, cooling the engine and providing interior heat in the winter. It is not part of the Air Conditioning System.

Components of the Coolant System are:
- Antifreeze
- Radiator
- Radiator Hoses
- Heater Core
- Thermostat
- Water Pump
- Electrical Resistors
- Temperature Sending Units
- Radiator Fan
- Blower Fan (interior heating/cooling)
- Belts (providing power to the water pump)

Coolant Flush Service - It is a preventitive maintanence procedure to protect some of the above components of the Coolant System. We hook up a coolant system flush machine, which cycles out the old antifreeze and cycles in new antifreeze.

* Note - There are now two (2) types of Antifreeze. Please refer to your owners manual for specifications.

Antifreeze has three (3) primary benefits:
1. Overheating and frezing protection
2. Rust inhibitor inside radiator and engine
3. Anti-Foaming agent inside of engine
